Would it be a good idea to note on the User ID/Author box to have the location or at least the growing zone of the writer shown? In this way when cultural practices are talked about the reader can determine if the info is relevant  to him /her.

Yes that is a good idea and I do think most people have it noted as this subject has popped up before. Geez I can't remember if I ever noted it myself. I'm in zone 7a, used to be 6B, but the rezoning which was done a while back changed it moving many areas into a warmer zone.

Yeah, in California, we have so many micro-climates, the USDA zone map completely is whacked!  Here we all go by the Sunset Western Gardening Zones.  Much more accurate!  Still, any kind of zone guideline is a great thing to have for sure!

That is a nice to have especially when folks comment on thier brebas and ripening times.  I started a database that took data folks entered back in 06, 07, 08 and some of 09.  The only way this data is useful is if I knew their zone.  For some it was easy b/c they had it attached in their signature line.  For others, I had to look at their profile.  It took some time but I got it entered.  I plan to tweak it over the holidays.  Speaking of profiles...I just uploaded mine with a pic of me and the wife.  In case you're what snaglpus looks like.

Thanks for all the kind words. What's the story behind the name Snaglpus? Well, there really isn't a story. I just wanted to choose a name that's different from my name but connected to a cartoon character. I LOVE cartoons and I laugh all the time. I love the Pink Panther, Bugs Bunny, Fog Horn Leghorn, Betty Boo, and a few others. On a sad or down day, Hanna-Barber cartoons always make me laugh.
