so I finally took the boards suggestion on "pinching"  I had my Col De Dame UC Davis DFIC 74 which I took two (2) pinching and hoping this will help the tree and figs grow.

I decided to take the pinching and try and root them.. came up with this 16 oz. cup, with a small cup on the bottom, this will help to store the excess water for  humidity, and a cut 16 oz. cup on top (with small hole) to create a dome and humidity for the pinch cutting.. anyone ever do this, what are my chances on the two pinches taking?

none, no rooting hormone used at all.. the pinches were small.. would be cool if they took as it would make pinching a win win, if i can get 2 more trees out of this and the mother thee growing better and producing more it would be great.

If you take a piece big enough to root it's called pruning  :)  Good luck with them!  I've had that kind of thing work and Charlie rooted probably over 100 one node cuttings last winter.  If you search for topics started by Charlie with the word node in the thread title you'll probably find the discussion.

When I pinch my figs I only take the very smallest tip of the growth. Just the but of new growth that is unfolding. So I cannot imagine how  you are rooting the product of "pinching." You must have pruned a node or two - right? And even at that, they must have been very small in diameter so I cannot see them rooting.

It worked for me with 2 nodes fully grown and the tip - they need stored energy to root.
Nevertheless, you have nothing to lose.
I would keep humidity a bit on the low as those green cuttings tend to rot easily if the environment is too humid.
