Leon, very nice looking plant and fruit. Herman says that this is the same as Nero600m. The leaves on my Nero600m are similar but not the same. The fruit
is also similar.

Nice healthy looking plant Leon. It has enough figs in its cluster, very impressive. Congrats.

Mike: Are your tree and fig photos Nero600M? Thanks for sharing.

Tam

Tam, that is correct. I posted those so Leon could compare to his Vallecalda.

Very nice Leon, I will let you know about the Valle Negra. My main crop has a way to go.

Mike thank you.

The fruit of Vallecalda and the Nero600M appear to look similar but the leaves are distinctly different so my thought is they may be different varieties.

My Vallecalda and that which is pictured on the Planet Fig website appear to be the same variety with respect to the leaf shape and fruit.

I need to post some photos of the inside of this fig for a better comparison. This is the first year that this tree produced figs and perhaps that's why they appear small and round. The brebas, as photographed on Planet Fig, appear to be elongated compared to the main crop.

If I am not wrong, I did read some where that Nero600M other name is Vallecalda.

Paul I read that Nero600 was supposedly the same or very similar to Valle Negra.

Tyler

Here are more photos of my Vallecalda. I do not think that this fig and Nero 600M are the same. Perhaps Valle Negra and Nero 600M are similar.

Leon Hi
In the planetfig site is written " This fig must not be harvested while being excessively mature, because as the skin is thick, it becomes hard when ripening, degrading the organoleptic qualities. However, when harvested ripe, it is a sugary fruit of very good quality. "

did you experience that issue with it? maybe its good as dried fruit as well?

Eli, thank you. To answer your question, I have not eaten the ones that have gotten that far because the ants savor these figs at that stage. However I can tell you that they are sweet and have a grape like flavor.

Is this the updated photo Leon?
