VARIEGATED BROWN TURKEY

I was out picking figs this afternoon when I noticed this variegated leaf on my brown turkey and I just think it's the coolest thing. It would be super cool if it would throw a variegated sport in the spring that I could take a cutting from and root an entirely variegated tree. I'm sure that the chances are slim to none but here's to hoping.

I mainly grow citrus and there are some types of citrus tree will produce some variegation but it is pretty rare. The most common being the cara cara navel which has been propagated as a completely variegated tree.

Is variegation common in figs?

Variegation is very uncommon in figs, only a couple varieties have variegated fruit and only one with variegated foliage that I am aware of. Take very good care of that tree, maybe trim back some solid green leaves and see if your tree produces more variegated foliage. Very cool, good luck with it and welcome.
