Vasilika Melissi  is my very best top quality fig variety. Very tasty, it never get spoiled. Even with a cracked eye it is sealed with a drop of "honey" It has unique violet color inside and it is very beautiful. The smaler green figs on the pictures are White Vasilika witch are also very good. It is the end of the season and only these smaler fruits were left on the tree.

Looks beautiful Pen! I see you are in zone 6. So you do not have the fig wasp then correct?

The fig wasp lives everywhere around here. I am very lucky in that department! :)
Bob this stained purple coloration is very unique and I never seen it in any other variety.
I will get some photos of the trees soon And I'll post them.

This is a very interesting: from the trunk of this Vasilika melissi two shoots on the left mutated and have different leaf and fruit shape. Unfortunatly the fruits will not have time to ripen.
