First fig from my Vasilika Sika and first main crop to ripen in this summer of strange weather. Taste was excellent, sweet and flavorful. Also picked a Bisiri Dark and saw some bird damage on a few others.

I just got out of the hospital again, was in for 10 days, had 3 surgeries. Will be starting Peritineal dialysis in the coming weeks. Too many problems with Hemodialysis. Coming home to a ripe Vasilika was a real joy. I should be picking more varieties in a day or so.

BTW the last time I was in the hospital for DKA, no one brought me clothes. When I went home, I headed straight from the car into the backyard to tend to my trees in my hospital gown. Three hours later I went inside, took a shower and put some clothes on.

I can't compare VS to Battaglia Green, Ischia Green or Strawberry Verte as I don't grow them. I would, however, compare it very favorable to Jh Adriatic.
