VdB cold hardieness

I am doing a hedge and trying to keep those that will need no winter protection or very little in the same hedge and one needing winter protection in a differant hedge.

so far for the cold hardy hedge i have lined out
Hardy chicago
MvsB
RdB
Sal's G not sure how sals C would do but i have a few of those as well.

would VdB fit in the cooler side of the list. would it fair as well as these listed.
lets see some experts chime in on this one.

Unknown hardyness that will be planting
Albique Petite
Lattarola
VdB
and several unknows i got from members from the north to north east these i am sure are cold hardy and will likly be planted in the orchard spot out back not the hedge. also going out back is Osborne Prolific.

so the question where would VdB be on this list, as well as any other listed here. if you have any knowladge of these growing in cool winter climates please share what you know.

Thanx Dave

VdB is not cold hardy in Z6. It has to be wrapped "at least" for the first few years of its life.

Navid.

ok maybe i will do VdB in the back orchard area. Just need to see if Sals C is as cold hardy as sals G now

I planted mine in ground this year as it was very sick with fmv, so we will see how it makes it through winter.

I agree with Navid ,Violette is only reasonably hardy, and not very hardy.

Left them out for 3 seasons. No protection. Grown in large pots. These are at least 5 year old plants. Do get some tip die backs.
Would plant one pot into ground right next to house this spring.

Paully what zone are you in?
