It came in just as I was leaving for work. Again, thank you Dave. I'll be sure to send you some candied figs or some jam once it starts producing. I'll figure something out.

Its easy yet VERY time consuming. You basically boil whatever fruit you want in sugar for an hour and then set it aside for 24 hours and you do it again the next day. Takes between a week and two weeks to candy fruit.

Plant looks good candy sounds good.

thanks for sharing

Tex, so you would keep boiling them in sugar every day for an hour for a week?  That is quiet a bit of work.  Do you use fresh fruits or dried?

Yeah its a lot of work but its worth it. You can use either fresh or dried fruit.

Glad to see it made it to you in good shape Tex

I was looking at some recipes for candied figs a couple of weeks ago , I'll try and post there recipe see if it's the way you do it.

Enjoy the tree, Dave

Too much work for me, I will stick with fig/strawberry jam. It took 1.5 hours and I have some everyday, either on toast with PB or on a bagel w/ PB. Yum.

Hey Tex (and Chivas) I use an old south american recipe my cousin gave me for candied figs, it is 100 figs plus 200-250 grams of sugar, cook on a very low flame for 2-3 days, I turn it off, give it a rest, and back on several times a day, but not for a week.
