Verdal Longue Pics

I got these cuttings from Jon in Feb along with Panache. I had the rooting cups in pool area and forgot to bring in, got a bad rain storm with wind over night and my rooting cups blew into pool. I didn't see them till next morning and fished them out. This is the sole survivor I almost gave up but it pulled through and here it is 41/2 months after a near drowning death. I'm hoping to get to sample one this year

Any one have any experience with this variety? Please post your opinion on taste and productivity

Thanks for posting the pic's Sal's. I like what I see in VL's productivity. I got a little rooted plant from a kind lady and it grew rather good but no figs yet as we are just getting our fig weather. Sucks.

Hi Paul hopefully I'll get to sample one and post. Maybe we can compare later on in growing season mine are still a little ways from being ripe I think about 45 days since they formed. I had this one outside up along house in shaded spot so didn't really pay close attention. Now it is getting full heat and sun. The leaves you see burnt are from me spraying copper mid day but it is coming back

sal, how well did the copper spray work?

Mike the copper spray does work but if the leaf is already showing signs of rust it might slow it down a bit but does not cure it. it will help with new leaf growth and should be applied and bud break and then follow up You can find it at HD, Lowes or nursery Copper Fungicide

Sal, Nice looking plant you have there looks like its really trying to make you happy.

Thanks Nelson, this guy was a fighter and good swimmer lol so I'm looking forward to sampling one.
