I couldn't find a thread dedicated to this fig, so I thought I would create one, since it actually looks really tasty, sounds tasty (from those that have mentioned tasting it), and it may be a three-crop fig if I'm to believe Condit's synonym observations.
There are pics of this fig from Jon's and Ken Love's collection here:
In the F4F notes on this fig, Condit stated that "Pasquale", "Camaldolese", "Tre Volte l'Anno", "Arneo Nero", "Natalino Nero", "Allison", "Verneo Nero" and "Della Cava" were synonyms. "Hilgardia" was cited as a possible synonym in the "Fig Varieties" book.
If I have this correct, "Tre Volte l'Anno" translates to "Three times a year" in Italian, so could it be that in certain warm climates this is a three-crop fig?
I've got a couple of these @ 1gal which are taking off this year. I doubt I'll taste anything for another 18+ months, so I'm curious to hear/see a sneak peak of what I'm in for. I get the feeling this may be a highly underrated fig that isn't very common.
Edit: in case it's necessary, here are a couple of interior photos from Ken and Jon via the F4F database:
