Vern's Brown Turkey

Any one have some feed back on this variant. My experience is as follows:

This is a large brown fig, especially the breba crop. Very sweet. Its main crop is abundant. I find its level of sweetness overpower its flavor or lack of flavor. New comers to fresh fig taste can fall in love with this sweet one like one of my friend. For my preference, it would be nice to have more seed crunch. This variant is readily available in most nurseries here(Vancouver, Canada). So far I am keeping my tree.

In my opinion Vern's BT is not the same as many Brown Turkeys I have seen.

Paully...thanks for the info on the Vern's Fig tree...I will keep my eyes open down here in the States for that variety...back during the winter I was gifted some cuttings from an "unknown" fig tree called Verna's Purple...the owner is not sure of the variety, but it has grown in her front yard for many years...I'm hoping that when it starts producing in a couple of years we can get a positive ID on it from some of the Forum members.

Yeah, Vern and Verna is kind of confusing, especially if it turns out that Verna's purple is some variant of BT.  I still think it may be another variety but whatever it turns out to be it sounds like a tasty fig.

Sorry to drag up and old thread. How's your Vern BT Paul? Do you keep it ground or in a pot?

Its an in ground tree with no winter protection. I am getting a huge main crop from it.
Many of my friends favourite.

Paul,

can you post pictures of Vern's BT figs and leaves?
Thank you!

That's fantastic Paul. Looking forward to seeing some pix of this one.

Is it possible VBT is the same as Florea?
