Verte (Green Ischia) or St Anthony Marseilles

Hello fello fig lovers.  I am going to take a drive to Edible Landscaping and was wondering if anyone had purchased the above figs from them and if they were worth growing in the east coast area (VA).  I've never tasted a non dark fig.  I have room for 2 more figs.  I wanted to add a kathleen black and a gino's black but have not found any for sale.  Really want to fill the space......So what would you do?

I have a St Anthony ( Not from Edible landscaping ) going on its' third year.
Hasn't fruited yet. It was in a 1gl. pot when I got it.

I also had an Ischia ( green? also not from EL ) for a couple years and gave it away last Fall.
That one didn't fruit for me either.

Just giving you my own personnel experience, maybe just bad luck.

On the bright note: Very healthy trees. Little or no FMV.

I bought the St Anthony's from EL.

Seems to be a slow grower. But weather has been a bit strange. I know  you are going for a ride by them but my experience with Raintree nursery has been real good.

I found the shipping  to be fair.

Thank you both for your advice.  Always great to hear others first hand knowledge.

I have a celeste, a hardy chicago, VDB one from EL the other From Raintree, LSU purple, and a Saltane from RT.  All are small and no fruit yet but have a 50x24 foot area set aside for two more fig trees.

I have the Saint Anthony, Hardy Chicago, Celeste and VDB (Negronne) all from EL.  The Saint Anthony does not have red pulp here in NC.  See picture here: http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=4820970
It tastes good to me but completely different than the dark ones I have.  Not as sweet but sweet enough and the flavor is fruity.  I used to think honeydew now kind of lemon.  It is milder flavored than the darks but strong enough.  One big plus is, it is earlier than my others by at least 2 weeks, so it stretches out the season.  Are there other figs you might like better.  Probably.   Bottom line is I like it, not as much as the others but it is so different and early I am glad to have it.  By the way, it is productive.

I saw Jon selling a Strawberry Verte on Ebay..I have may be 10-12 of them, they from last year cuttings..They may be 14-17 inch long but each one cover with figs..
Kathelin Black..I have this one may be 3 fut tall..No fruit yet.. St Anthomy very, very slow, no fruit yet..
Get Sal Corleone, Or Marseleive VS, they give lots of fruit fast..

Seems there are 2 versions of St Anthony.

EL variety of St. Anthony =  Green Fig
Encanto St. Anthony         =  Dark Fig

Heard the dark St. Anthony is a better choice. Gino & Kathleen Blk have been highly rated.
