It's probably still around because there wasn't enough heat for it to ripen.

So fig is native in North America? I like its really cold hardy and won't rot in rain....

Tried to make fig jam with them but they never softened up. Makes it hard to spread on bread. Lol

There are many Ficus.x species is the Americas.

No, our
Ficus carica (aka., common fig) originated from the Middle East and Western Asia regions.
