Hard to not be cynical about this piece of propaganda considering the source - Walmart.  I can imagine the boy's parents being Wal-Mart employees and not being able to afford the bike for their other son:

Merry Christmas, Wal-Mart employees -- hopefully the Corporation will give you a wonderful Christmas present that you deserve - a living, honorable wage so you don't have to suffer the indignity of public assistance while working your tail off.   But somehow I seriously doubt it.  There's billions more to be made while USA jobs are shipped out to the lowest bidder. And Big Blue's war on Main Street continues. 

Earn it.
