Video: Interview with Nelson in Toronto on fig cultivation

Hello everyone,

I have been silent since a while but rest assured I have not vanished. I have been very busy in the last few months. If anyone is interested I might be now growing figs in Europe...

lately, I had the chance to visit my sister in Toronto and at the same time I had the privilege to meet Nelson. With his permission I made a video.

great work guys.  Next time you are in town let me know, maybe we can set up a fig meeting with others as well.

take care

Hey Nas I did think of it and mentioned to Michal you lived down the street but time was limited so next time I am sure we can get a few people together.

Its funny though because as you can clearly see I was nervous specially in the biginning ment to say fertility and said fertilization hahahaha. But anyhow that is how I started into fig trees, my Fiance had a miscarriage in 2008 and was having a hard time to handle it so a client of ours told me to get a fig tree as in some cultures it represents fertility so thats exactly what I did in the summer of 2009 bought my first fig tree and 4 weeks later we found out she was 4 weeks pregnant and now we have a beautifull 10 month old baby girl.

Thats awesome Nelson, the magical power of figs! Blessings to you and your family.

Thank you John, thats how it all started but I surely got hit with the fig bug very very quickly and absolutely love growing figs. Its such a fun hobby and to be able to share with other fig enthusiasts and hobbiest is allot of fun fig people are generally the nicest people I have met yet.

Nelson,
take this in a lite way.
But the way i see it with your 100 plus plants your gonna have a very large family.

hahahahaha that was funny Martin. Believe it or not I just recently took home my Petite Negri and St. Rita as I had no fig trees at home for a while. Will let you know how that works out lol.
