I also made sure to have http://www.figtrees.ca ''stamped'' into the video...

Hi Michal.
I watched your video to see how you root pruned your tree compared to the way i do mine plus i enjoy your video's. ; )
I at first questioned why you did not dig into the root system much more after you mentioned the hose did not remove much of the soil.
But then i said "wait a minute there were 2 trees not 1" and you basically split them in half after cutting the bottom 1/3 off.
Im curious Michal if you eventually trimmmed the canopy or left it. One tree i forgot one time recently and it dropped half the crop of figs that season because the roots could not support the size of tree that season it was very cold that year i was doing it and along with my hands getting cold from doing too many at once my brain also failed me.
Very nice Michal and i look forward to more of your video's when you decide to shoot more.
Thanks.

Thanks Martin,

I did try to dig into the root system but it was almost ''rock solide''. I cut off the entire side of the root mass on one side and I hope to do the same on the other part in fall or next spring. I left the canopy as is and I have noticed that the brebas have not grown much compared to the other trees. For this year and next year I am fine if this tree will not produce much. My main objective is to have this tree have a brand new root mass.

Also, there was an interesting reply from Al on GW.

Michal you probably will have similar problem next season with tree . I have had the same thing happen where i could not remove hardly any soil as it was mostly roots not soil.
Here in picture it illustrates what i did i cut into it from top to bottom and did so all around the root ball along with cutting near a 1/3 off bottom this coming winter season i will do same but also this time i will cut about 1/4 off the top along with about a 1/3 again off the bottom and top to bottom again to thin as many roots as possible.
