Viola

Are all/most fig seeds the same as Black Bursa inasmuch as they only produce e.g. 25% edible figs, 25% male and the remaining 50% useless? I'm looking to buy some Viola seeds but I have no idea what they have the possibility to produce.

I'd tread cautiously...  in order to produce common bearing figs, persistent caprifigs must be utilized.  And only THEN will a small percentage of seedlings be common, and an extremely small percentage of THOSE will be equal to, or greater than the parent fig.  Therefore, seeds can easily be hawked as being most any precious cultivar, and it would necessarily be EXPECTED that any resulting plants would not bear a resemblance to the claimed parent.

Thank you, those were my thoughts, too. I love how they add 'rare' to everything. I once saw a cheeky young lad on ebay selling a 'rare' mango he had grown from seed! I'll be skipping the seed sellers. Now I just need to find that plant.
