How old is your VdB?  I'm still confused if I have VdB or something else because it was one of those I thought was "Italian Honey" when I purchased it from a nursery 3-4 years ago, and it is prolific with dark, jammy fruit, and young leaves look like yours, but many don't.  I've promised air layers to a few here, but hesitate to call it VdB when I just don't know.

OMG!  Just walked out to look at it again, and I have a beautiful fig split from the rain yesterday.  It isn't even ripe, and we don't typically get rain in summer, but it did rain hard yesterday.

So how old is your tree?

Tree was bought dormant in 2008 from El 5 gallon size.
Yes i pinch the limbs and a few i may leave for future shaping.
