Violette de Bordeaux 2012

JD, looking good!  It is definitely a very productive variety.  I took these two pictures of my VdB almost 1 month ago on June 14.  Can't wait for the harvest (after the bird/squirrel/ant battle)...

My VdB has dwarf like leaves, maybe 5-6 inches long and about thumbnail sized fruit, is the tree really growing like a dwarf?

JD,
Tape a ring of 3 inch wide masking tape around the trunk with a very small slightly folded flap at the end of the tape where the ends meet and slightly over lap end to end. (The tape's folded flap provides a place to hold onto the sticky mess with a pair of pliers when pulling it back off the trunk).
Then, once the trunk is taped, completely paint your Tangle foot all over the 3 inch wide ring of tape, (and folded flap ) the tape will come off cleanly with the Tangle foot still painted on it when it's time to change it., The masking tape makes a good close barrier so insects can't climb underneath it, and being stretchy paper, will expand,, stretch and will even break without harming the trunk if you forget to remove it, as the trunk grows.
Good luck Buddy!
Wishing I had a beauty like that! Good Job!
