Violette de Bordeaux

I live in Philadelphia PA and it is starting to get warmer out now. My Violette de Bordeaux is my first fig tree that I have, it was bought dormant and still is. When should I be able to take it outside to start growing again? The tree is only a straight single branch with no branches coming off of it. Will more grow out from the trunk area over time?
Thanks for any help anyone can give

Are you able to put it near a window?  They say to give them slowly increasing amounts of light to get them acclimated.  Search for threads on the subject, I know I've seen several.

Your last possible frost date is probably in the first week of May but chances are the last one will be mid April. It will take your tree 1-6 weeks to begin growing depending on how dormant it is, how much sun it gets, and the weather. It takes freezing temperatures to get a tree really dormant so your tree is probably a couple weeks from waking up now if it has been someplace cool. If you take it out now you might need to bring it back in for a couple nights but I would go ahead it if that is possible. Better that it wakes up outside so you do not need to adjust it to sunlight.
