Thanks Joe, nice tree

Always great videos, Joe.  I enjoyed that.  Can't wait to taste mine this summer.

Enjoyed the video as always, I wish I could let figs get that ripe here. If they are starting to shrivel on the tree you can bet it is soured because of the humidity. There is a fine line between ripe and sour here, I've especially noticed on my Lsu purple that you have to wait till the last minute for it to be sweet but if you miss  it the next day it is sour.

What type bags cover the figs? where do you get them?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Jerry those are organza bags.  You can find them at craft stores or order them online at amazon.

Another nice video. I'm a fan of your new youtube videos.

I tried your old once a week deep watering schedule here in Tucson, but
had to immediately give it up. My trees, especially VdB, didn't like it. They
prefer at least twice a week, three times a week during hot spells. One new
observation I've seen with VdB is that the droopy, thirsty looking leaves it
has during hot spells is from the leaves themselves. I happened to graft a limb
of Col de Dame noir onto my in ground VdB. The leaves on the Col de Dame don't
droop like the VdB leaves do in the heat. I think maybe the drooping leaves aren't
necessarily a sign of underwatering if the CdD shows no sign of water stress fed
from the same roots. Its a bit funny looking to see the VdB drooping with the
one CdD limb leaves all upright.

I'm interested in your list of favorites. I have three of the four and agree with
your rating of DK, BM and VdB. I have had good results from Panachee here as
well in a nearly identical climate.

I hope you have lots of video material again this year into the fall.

Thanks Bada.  I have a small Panachee tree that will get planted in the fall.  Another forum member who lives a few miles from me has a large healthy Panachee tree so I have hope that it will do well for me too.

Hopefully those monsoon rains will start soon!
