Violette de Bordeax?

Last winter I purchased a “Violette de Bordeaux” fig plant from eBay seller kristeinjoy – since then the plant has recovered nicely and put out a good flush of growth however the leaf style is a bit different to that of a VDB (see pic). After digging through this site, I discovered the plant may have been propagated by tissue culture. I was told that this can sometimes affect the overall leaf pattern. I honestly don’t know if I got the real deal or something else.  Any ideas?

The leaves are from a juvenile plant and will undoubtedly change somewhat as the plant matures.  However, to me, the leaves seem consistent with VdB.

The leaves look like it, but many other fig varieties have the same leaf.  Just walked outside and looked at my tree.  It has many different shaped leaves on it, but it's pretty old and in ground.  I think you may have to wait for fruit.

Thanks for the responses :)

I think I will just have to curb my impatience and wait for it to fruit. Hopefully it won't be too long!!! Cheers

No reason to not think it's VdB at this point....

I thought the base of the leaves looked kind of narrow for a VdB. Based on what I have seen online the general leaf structure should look like this:

Anyways, I agree with the comments above. I think it’s too early to tell. I will just have to wait for it to mature.

If you did the opposite and posted your picture asking what kind of fig is this? I would have said it looks like VdB or something similar.
