Visits To Bass's Trees Of Joy Garden.

I had been Visiting Bass's Trees of Joy site before I brought my first fig tree.

Between his  site and this great forum my interest went from simple curiosity to outright obsession.

After Looking at all the pics and reading the information about so many different figs I went from not having a single tree to now having nearly three dozen
fig tree of all colors and nationalities on my roof.

Don't know at this point rather to thank them or blame them.

Since I am not able to get to the West Coast to visit Encanto Farms at this point,  I figured let me check out Bass's garden.

And boy did I check him out.

Being only an hour away, I thought " What's the harm? "

I was so naive.

Not only did I visit Bass's garden.  I went back two more times in the same week!

Adorable twins, beautiful friendly wife.

He has a great set-up.

Fruit plants  galore, Banana trees, and of course more Fig trees then you can shake a stick at.

Fig tree after Fig tree as far as the eye can see.

Small ones here, Big ones there, Ones from so many different countries that I lost track.

I was like a kid in a candy store.

My head was spinning.

My first visit that lasted a hour felt like a minute.

Bought some great plants and headed home.

Two days later, there I was knocking on his door again.

That visit was longer but still zoomed right by.

Brought a few more fig trees and headed home...

Two more days later there I was back at Bass for more trees I might have " missed."

I could have sworn I saw him hiding behind a curtain in the window that visit.

In total I brought 22 Figs trees.

I will be posting some pictures soon.

would love to see some pics....from you and from bass

i checked out the web site few times but dont recall seeing pictures

You're welcome Nick. I'm glad you enjoyed the visit. it was nice meeting you and Alto.

Bass check you pots and make sure there was no little statues put in them after Nicks visit.
All in fun.

; )

Bass,

The pleasure was all mine.

Your garden really does live up to it's name.

It was a true joy to see - and taste some - of your great selection of exotic and uncommon trees.

To anyone reading this, if your within driving distance to Trees of Joy in Bethlehem,
P.A.  make an appointment and check him out, your will be amazed at his selection.

It is a great place, I've been there twice (though only picked up 4 trees total: 2 figs, a pawpaw, and a jujube).

Bass, I really like the changes to your website, looks very nice.  Though your inventory seems to be a lot less after Nick's visit. :-)

The only thing missing from the new website is a plants wanted list for varieties that are currently not available. Other than that, the new site looks outstanding.
