I shared my first main crop Vista fig with my wife today, it was delicious, jammy with a subtle berry something, complex in that I could taste multilayers of different fruits.
My brain trying to process something new into categories already known, detects nectarine and mostly raspberries, wife says raspberry preserves closest flavor she tastes.
Vista is our favorite this year, we gobbled all the brebas, anxiously awaiting these, they did not let us down. We have had less than a 1/4" of rain since early June, so tree hasn't grown much overall, a little over 6' at 2 years, first year in ground. Things stop growing from early July to now with the endless heat, but it still manages to fruit decently getting only East morning, early afternoon sun.
