Hi Guys is's Kausik from Adelaide, Australia. I know fig season in USA is finished but foe us down under things are just getting warm up.last year i bought this mission fig tree, initially I thought it is Black Mission but now seeing the size and shape of the fig more convinced that may be this is Vista mission. Yesterday i picked up the first breba from the tree. it seems really early to get a fig already. the taste was quite rich and the skin of the fig is very thin. Hope with the age taste will get better. Another fig I picked up is called Clancy , a made up name by late Tony Stevens. The fig is honey sweet and tasty. hopefully the main crop will be even better. Thanks for looking and good luck with your trees in coming winter. It seems like worst weather already started.Kausik
Good morning, Your tree's leaves match my Vista, but I don't have a regular Mission to compare. I hope this helps some.I hope you have a great growing season down there. Please post more pics of your season, it makes freezing our butts off a little more tolerable when we can daydream of Summer.
Thanks for confirming about the vista mission. I will keep updating with the picture the fig season 2014-15.Most of my third year trees are bearing fruit this year. So excited and looking foroward to taste them and share the experience with others. Thanks,Kausik
Kausikck76, I have the Clancy too, but no fruit yet! Also, I was sent black mission cuttings by your friend figsalot, (oxi) Are these the same as the one pictured here? Looks delicious!
I have several 3 year old Black Mission, plus a few air layers I made this year. Your leaves do not look like mine. I got two Vistas from Jon (Encanto) earlier this year. When I got them, they had only single lobed leaves (I think maybe because they were growing in the shade). They have since put out some multi-lobed leaves. I cannot say for sure if they match yours, but they do not look unlike yours.
That Vista looks so good!
