Vista Mission? Why a healthy clean tree?

I noticed that all figs from UCD have  viruses problems?
Vista is also from California:How come the mites can't find the Vista Mission fig and inoculate it with the Fig mosaic Virus.
Could it be ,because it was never trialed at UC Davis program?

Say my neighboring farm plants tomatoes and they have ToMV and I plant tomatoes and do not have ToMV.  I could get ToMV but I also may not, aphids will spread this, thrips will spread it, mechanical damage, environmental damage etc.  Perhaps it's just located mostly at Davis and mites do not move large distances as easily as other pests so for them to spread the virus to a larger area may take longer and more luck of the draw.

Probably because they are one of the more recent accessions and have not had time to get infected. Perhaps they just have a milder form.

VS, I will as that question when I travel to UCD this year.

Mi Personal opinion is that the mites are not spreading it readily as it was thought.
My Opinion is that the UCD Collection was man made infection.
It was not done in our time but at the inception of the Fig Germaplasm when they imported the scions from Europe.
It is Known that multiple scions of multiple cultivars were grafted on existent established caprifig trees.
It was done to produce fruits faster for evaluation purposes.
The selected cultivars were regrown later from wood grown on those trees into new independent trees.
My opinion is that some original scions from Europe and the world, were infected, and the viruses they had, contaminated all other ,otherwise healthy scions ,(because of the fluids circulating trough the grafts)resulting in that at the end every new grown tree had been infected ,not only with one virus kind but with a cocktail of viruses.
Dennis:Please ask scientists there at the collection, because I would love to see that I am contradicted, and they have a base to contradict my opinion.
Once you get a response please post it here.

Trust me, Vista either has virus or has been exposed, and it does show symptoms here, though not much.

Lack of symptoms, or minimal symptoms should not be confused with uninfected.

I saw it on my cuttings this year.

Well My 3 years old Vista is totally healthy as you can see for yourself.
All other Germaplasm accessions aether died or never grew taller than one foot nor produced more than one handful of fruits, even after being between 5 and 9 years old.
Here is a pix of  Vista Mission from Jon V(Thanks again Jon V).
It has even a couple of brebas that made it trough the Winter!

I could be mistaken, in fact I was by saying "cuttings"... I did see some light mottling on a couple of leaves on ONE cutting out of three. These cuttings struggled a bit and only half made it, I blame black pruning seal. At any rate, all the newer leaves are clear now. I took a pic, but did not have the memory card in and cannot find the cord for my camera, I usually just put the card in the puter. It was more noticeable when the leaves formed, but can hardly be seen now.
