it seems growing fig is endless waiting.. waiting for the cuttings root.. waiting for the winter to go by.. waiting for the trees to push crops.. waiting for the figs to ripe.. waiting little more for the perfect ripeness. then waiting to eat it. 

good thing there are at least figs on the trees to wait for :)

This is true whatever you do. Wait for money to buy a house. Wait for the money to buy land ( to put fig trees :) ).
Wait for spring to come...
Did you ever hatch ducks ? Wait five weeks for ... sometimes nothing just all trashed in the end... arghhhhhhhh .
One of my worst experience was waiting for a chicken to hatch . The morning for hatching everything was gone - rat or whatever attacked ... Man they were rude ; not even left one for me !
It seems our lives is a lot of waiting ...
The worst year at fig waiting was 2012 for me . I knew nothing would ripe and that that year the trees would spent it in recovering, not mentioning I lost my bigger tree !  . Damned ! 18 months without snacking on a fig !
So I just planted more fig trees so that the waiting is worth the time.

I think that this is the key ! Make the waiting worth the time you wait ! So the cure is fairly easy: plant more fig trees !

My Negronne is going crazy this spring. It has a bunch of large brebas on it that are turning purple already and it has grown several new thick branches some of which are 4" long already.

Also dreaming about them... last night, I had a dream that one of my new plants was loaded with huge fruits, but they look like orange/lemons ( I think it was Dennis Lemon fig that triggered it)  as I was trying to figure how to hold all those 'fig/orange/lemon' fruits in place, a very strong wind hit and knocked them all on the ground. It was an amazing scene and I woke up dirsty and hungry.... that is serious addiction. they are in my dreams... have you ever dream with them in your dreams?

I was dreaming of fig trees a few nights ago. My trees were all bending over with big dark figs, I was proping them up with sticks to keep them from breaking. I am sure hoping that dream is prophetic of my future in a couple  of years!

My sister-in-law was just over and she asked, "what are  you going to do with all these fig trees?" All I could do was offer a strange smile in return since I only have 6 trees now, with plans for 5-6 more ;-)
