I did get seed and they are growing great. One variety are larger than the others. I will try to take notes when I'm back down at the greenhouses. Thanks again for the seed.
Paradiso and Panachee. I'm not sure which are which.
Niagara Black seedlings .....
Wow, guys! Thank you! I honestly did not expect this much progress from those little babies :) I wish you all good luck with them. You know that if you start a 6 inch cutting and a seed now, by the end of the summer the seedling will easily overtake the tree started from the cutting, they grow really fast provided enough room and heat. 6-7 ft tall easily. The nice thing about the seedlings that they care less about the gnats! They grow faster than the buggers can eat.
Tyler how the heck did you Niagara black seeds to sprout?
The seed came from a Niagara Black grown in wasp country ;)
Ohhhhh Ok, that makes sense lol. You take good care of those babies never know what the end result will be.I grew this from a seed of some Turkish dried figs I eventually got rid of it.
why did you get rid of it
I was already annoyed with some common types that didn't fruit didn't want to keep something for years and eventually it be a caprifig or Smyrna so I gave it to someone who wanted to do a bonsai. I also had a few mission and kadota seedlings that shared the same faith.
Thank you so much for the seeds. I can't wait to get them planted!
They have grown some. Did some up-cupping this morning. The small ones recently sprouted. Maybe they're Panachee?
Wow! That's beautiful! I am glad they do so well for you. You will notice in a while that the seedlings from the same mother fig will start to look and grow differently. I am always fascinated by the way the Nature does things.
Looking good, up-cupping single nodes already, wow!
Wayne, Those are the seedlings, grown the seeds.
Thanks Igor, now that explains the growth, mine from seeds have grown rapidly also, I need to pay more attention to the thread, Charlie has so much going on, I can't keep up with him.
Yeap! He is a powerhouse! :)
These seedlings are the powerhouses lol. Funky coloration on some leaves. Is that normal? I never get tired of looking at them. :)
Nice! Do you keep track of the varieties? The coloration might mean some nutrient deficiency but I wouldn't worry about it until next August. As soon as they are outside, they will be happy growers.
