Want to buy Sal's Fig

Ciao everyone,  Buon Natale e Felice anno Nuovo!!!  I am looking and am willing to pay up to $30.00 for a small rooted Sal's fig if anyone could send me one.  I would like to do it before Christmas, I know its short notice, but I would like one for my Zio Salvatore.  He just recently bought a house here in America and I would like to set him up with a True Sal's fig.  I don't care what size it is or what, but would like to pot it up and have it for him soon. If you have cuttings of a true Sals, that would be nice also, Maybe just be sure to send more than one.  Can anyone help me.  Cuttings might be nice as I could maybe even have one for myself.  My Zio moved to Miami, Florida.  He was bragging, he thought it snows in America for Christmas!!  I told him he would have to come up here for that.  Please let me know, and due to the thread about Zergy, I am being very cautious. I will send Cash as I trust most everyone here, except for the above mentioned.  Ciao Ciao, Maggie

According to my experience with "True Sal's".it might not work very well in Florida.
It has the tendency to split a little, and while that is ok in some states with less precipitations,it might not be OK in Florida, where heat and precipitation, make the fruits split easier than let's say New Mexico.
On the Other Hand The Other Sal's is completelly imune to Rain, and would be much better as ones first fig.
Just my 2 cents.!!!!

Ciao Herman,  Thanks for the info.  When my Uncle gets his, he will know what to do, he's a real fig expert.  He only grows his figs where he can fully monitor their environment.  He did due to the extremes of weather where we come from in Italy.  Very  Very hot and can be very cold.  In other words, he wouldn't put it in the ground where he couldn't have control of its needs.  Our family in the old country always kept the figs in huge pots to move them accordingly.   They  only started ground planting them in America. I think this was because if their tree was in the American soil of their home,  It was a way of incorporating the old country into the land therefore noone could take their american homes away from them.  Superstition, but thats the way alot of  immigrants felt not trusting the American govt then.  They thought and were outsiders and were treated that way. So if their tree was there, it was there land and noone could interfere with the going ons  in their homes. Which is why we only spoke Italian in the home.  We were free to do it there.  What language were you speaking?  Are you Portugese?
Ciao,  Maggie
