I'm with Rafed. Good luck and best wishes. Maltese Beauty still commands a much higher price and is more rare.
I paid some pretty crazy prices in the past year and don't really see anyone promoting things to jack up prices. Sometimes I've had to write people for information when they had something for sale and suggested that they posted that on the forum but they were reluctant to do so for fear of being criticized for promoting their sale. The fact that I have written about some figs that I really liked in the past year and that I'm selling them are certainly related but not directly. I have given things away or sold very cheaply but also am trying to recoup my expenses. It's obvious to me that I won't recoup my expenses related to some varieties but that's okay with me too. For some, figs are entirely a hobby. For some, it's a combination of hobby and business. For some, like myself, I have considerable farm expenses. When I can't handle the work load I pay someone to pot plants, water plants, weed plants, etc.

Jake, it's all relative. I once worked on assignment in Louisiana for 2 weeks and for a few days our crew of four was working in Alexandria. We worked like crazy and the only good part of the job was the nice locals and the food (it was in August so weather definitely was not nice). One of the locals suggested a place for dinner. He told us to take a particular road and drive a particular distance and to look for a restaurant on our left at the top of the mountain. Good thing some of us were watching better than the driver as we shot right past it. We guessed the elevation of that mountain was maybe 100-200 feet!
