Watering with a Timer

Satellitehead and SueV have both mentioned that they are researching methods of automatic watering with a timing device.  While I have used timers in my garden for vegetables and some of my larger pots of figs, I would be interested in hearing any experience with automatic watering of rooted cuttings, if anyone had tried it.

I look forward to hearing about what Satellitehead and SueV come up with.

Jenia,
This is the timed watering system I am thinking about..although I will need 4-5 sets! ;-)

Sue

I have a system already, but have been hesitant to use it because of the possibility of overwatering; the timer I have doesn't take into consideration current rain, current soil moisture, etc.

I'm lucky (I think) not to have that problem...it's hot and windy here 24/7 so no problem overwatering...underwatering IS a problem...hense the need for a consistant watering system for my situation. My pots dry out fast. Ask Gene, I put him to work watering my figs while I fixed dinner. ;-) thanks again, Gene!
