Weather in your neck of the woods?

Hey All ,

For the past week it has been in the 40's . The week before that we had 4 days of 60 degree weather. and this morning I awoke to 2" of new snow on the ground. If I have learned one thing in life it is this.  Never trust the 'WEATHERMAN', the 'GOVERNMENT' or my 'EX-WIFE'. The 1st one on the list called for 30% chance of snow . Before going to bed last night there was frost on my front gate .so I rush out into the pasture in my shorts and socks  put all my starts and plants in the barn. so whats the weather like  in your zipcode?

No frost again this winter, but that is the norm.

In New Bern, NC. 68562..  this week will will have 55/58 at night and
in the mid-70's during the day. Maybe, some rain in a couple of days.
But, fear not... Those late frosts have a way of coming here!

High was 74F today!!!! And according to the next 2 weeks, it says that the low temp will be above 40F. I am sooo tempted to get some of these figs out, but I know once I haul all of them out, something will happen and it will get too cold out of nowhere.

I have  mine in the house with plant lights, so most of them are awake. So I would like to get them out asap. But I still do not remember ever having them out this early, so I will wait a little longer. Maybe I will get the older established ones out first sometime in the near future.

Hi's around 80 and lo's around 60 all week...can't ask for better, and finally getting a little break from the rain (one of the wettest Jan-Feb I can recall)

We're getting unseasonably warm weather here in Philly.Up to 75 today and down in the 50s at night with the forecast for more of the same for this week. I put some things out on the back patio to take advantage of this warm spell, including a few young fig starts

Same as Cajun here except without the rain. Yesterday I received only 2 tenths of an inch. Just enough to darken the soil. Today I was hoeing in my veggie patch and cutting grass. I have also moved my potted trees. I've moved them from the north and shady side to the south and sunny side. I keep them on the north side as long as possible to try to keep them dormant because if I would have had then on the south side they would have awaken in January with the warm weather we've had. This way they waited until February which was still early. Luckily we only had one light frost which didn't hurt them. Here is a picture of them all lined up, freshly root pruned, and fertilized. They should do some nice growing this year.

It is well into the 80's here in Tampa, Fl. Beach weather has arrived. Nice picture of the snow though. We do not get that here. Did once a long time ago. Had fun when it did. I am already having to repot some of the figs I started in December and was out today sweating in the garden tilling my blackeye pea patch.

Charles,

Nice set of roots. you started that in Dec? from a cutting?

Cody
The roots are of a Baskinta Brown from Lebanon. I started the cutting the first week of December in a cup inside. Transplanted to a wide one gallon pot in mid January and placed outside. This fig has grown 8 to 10 inches since then, so today I checked it and figured I had better repot it.

Snow on Saturday afternoon, 60s on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 70s tomorrow, probably more snow this weekend.

Albuquerque, NM

Only made 68F today in Paradise, with sunshine. Perfect for this fig lover. Not so good for the bananas. Supposed to rain Friday into the weekend. Might have to work on my Form 1040.

Daytime temps here in North Central Arizona are 60's  into the 70's, but at night we're sometimes  down into the 30's.  Temps this weekend are suposed to be in the high 20's.  I have several figs in pots in my attached garage, (which has a big east facing window) and most are leafing out.  I am waiting to plant them in the ground.  Think I'll give it another month.

Lots of rain the past few weeks. Temps are now nice and warm---around 80 the past few days and in the upper 60's overnight. No cool weather forecast so I'm planting veggies this week.  The mosquitos are swarming though.

Warm enough here to start my fig shuffle.

Same as Good Daughter near Austin.  We hit 90 two weeks ago, had a cool spell, now we're in the 80/60 pattern for the next week.  We've had quite a bit of rain (it's supposed to start raining again on Saturday).  I really hope we don't go back into a drought patten after all the rain we've had this year.

Same as Cajun with some rain and hail here in STL. Then back to the same  80/60 without rain until Wed. I have to get my lawn mower out.

Beautiful inland So Cal, I'm along the foothills of the Angeles range. .
I was out in the yard tending my vegetable garden and babying my tomatoes.
Got a little sunburn on my back to boot . . I hear rain is in the works for this weekend !
Woo Hoo! That'll be good, as we've had a very anemic supply of percipitation thus far . . .
a rather non-existant winter . .  even for a so cal boy(in his 60's)

Happy St Patricks Day to everyone . . hope you all have an enjoyable holiday with friends
and loved ones . . eating corned beef and cabbage and drinking beer and whiskey . . I know I will . . .

Be headin over to the coast to hang next week . .
I'm sure it will be idyllic . . Dana Point . . no climate better

So . . as I finish my post . . I see 295 views and 19 posts . . c'mon folks . . this is a community. 295 views . .
