Weird figs

I noticed the petals that are suppose to surround the eye move every which way around the fig on my supposed Magnolia. Has anyone seen this with any of their figs?

You might need to get a job - you are way over-analyzing this.

I don't understand what he is saying is wrong? What weird Figs ?

LOL. I agree wholeheartedly! I notice and pay attention to the strangest things. Thanks, Jon. : )

Dennis, in pictures of figs I usually notice that the triangular petals are around the eye of the figs. On some of mine, some are near the stem, the middle of the fig or not quite in formation around the eye. That caught my eye and I was curious to know if others here noticed it on their figs too, whatever the fig variety.

Edit: attached pics to clarify what I'm talking about.

????????????????

I know you are serious, but really, this is without a doubt the strangest question I have ever seen on this forum.

They do that all the time, on any variety.

Your Magnolia looks the same as mine. I think it's my favorite fig in the improved brown turkey type category. It has a larger and more rounded fruit, instead of oblong. The flavor is like cantaloupe melon when it's ok and dark plum flavored when you pick it just right.

The eye is redder than my other brown turkey types but slightly more tight. The down side is any opening of the eye, can lead to rain getting into the fig and souring them.

wow ,i am lost in space~

Wow, this is over my head. I just eat the things, not examine them ;-)

Thank you, Figgysid1! I really appreciate you taking the time to give a comprehensive answer. This is the only one of the few varieties I have, which has that characteristic. I thought it weird so I asked if anyone has seen a fig like that. Glad to know that it is not that strange.

We've been getting a lot of rain here in Florida. I'll cover it a bit more to lessen the chance of souring.

Dkirtexas, chucklikestofish, and GeneDaniels, the confusion is probably my fault because I didn't communicate clearly. I will try to write better in the future.

Wacky tobacco makes people think too much

I am trying really hard to understand the words coming out of his head! ;-)

Fortunately(or unfortunately, depending on the perspective) thinking too much/ being too curious is my natural default mode. The one time I experienced wacky tobacco I did not get the benefits and all the disadvantages. It was a summer abroad program during my college days. I woke up feeling groggy, had very dry mouth, and a painful hunger.

When I told my roommate the symptoms, he laughed so hard he fell onto his bed. Later he explained what happened and apologized. Apparently he was trying out some new weed in our room and I learned that second hand smoke can do more than kill you. LOL. We had a good laugh about it throughout the program.

What a really strange video! Even stranger, she has a whole series of them. What's wrong with getting stoned and NOT posting videos???

You don't get paid if you don't post the video. With the number of subscribers and views, she probably makes a good amount of money.

As far as the original question, I haven't noticed and "petals" on the sides of my figs.

Ha! I'm behind the times. I really didn't know you could get paid for posting something like that. I stay away from social media as much as possible and don't know how it works. But unemployment should be much lower, give everybody a video camera :)

Don't worry, your not alone, I too suffer from M.P.S. (Migrating Petal Syndrome). If we stick together and stay strong we can get through this.

Here is a picture of two of my afflicted figs, Napolitana Negra & Grise Olivette.

There is Fig in southern Italy called Unghiarolo (finger nail ) the skin always has what looks like a fingernail attached to it, it's supposed to be one of the best looking fig and good taste also.

Figs do this all the time. No worries.
