Weird Fungus ID

I wish I had morels, but instead I have these at the base of my potted fig tree. I mulch my pots with wood mulch and generally regard any mushrooms showing up as good signs of biological activity. It's growing in full sun 100+ temps. Anyone know what this alien thing is? The size of each of them is about 0.5cm and though it looks like there are dark pebbles inside them but those things are part of the fungus.

Not seeing a pic but you describe something like artillery fungus.

There it is, birds nest fungi is in the same link.

Definitely bird's nest.   Some people do get morels in wood chips.

You guys are smart and fast! Trade you for some morels.

By the way, you also identified the slime mold I had too. Mine were exactly textbook like you showed.

Very interesting

I see alot of that bird nest fungi in my potted blues. I have thick layer of pine bark mulch on them plus the fert I use is full of benefical fungi which may be responsible. Who knows? I do know I havent ever seen a problem it causes with my plants.

I'm using beneficial stuff too. I think it's called mykos.

I saw Slime Mold Fungi today on my mulch I used on the terrace that I had created for my newly grad rootings.
Is it harmful?
My baby trees are on above terrace and fungi is growing right on lower terrace corner bellow them. I'll post pics in morning, good thing I didn't scrape them off.

i got ton of those.. i ignore them.. why can my figs grow morel.. or at least shitake? i'll settle for oyster shrooms..

I just have to comment on what a great photo you took. When I opened it up it showed such a lovely blend of colors and textures that it is quite beautiful, even if it is a fungus. (maybe I'm crazy or it's almost midnight:))

oh, speaking of Shitake' ... when you rehydrate the Shitake' mushrooms, never throw away the water in the sink, instead sprinkle everywhere on your mulch, specially in shaded areas. you might see a lot of fresh Shitake' on your mulch next rainy season. I can't remember where exactly but read it in a eMagazine several months ago.

you are right.. they are great pix.. didn't notice that before.. focused on the problem.. and jack and diet coke. after awhile.. i just don't get drunk.. i have to wonder why i keep on drinking..

this is what's growing on my Mulch, any idea what it is?

I had that too. It looks like the slime mold in the reference provided by hoosierbamana. I thought I had accidentally dropped diatomaceous earth on a plant. Now I know what that is.

Is it going to continue getting larger and larger? Shell I scraped it off?
Looks like some animal had a loose bowels, LOL
