Weird Leaves on Petite Negri Fig

My petite negri fig has added leaves that do not look anything like the typical fig leaf. One branch started off with typical fig shaped leaves and then reverted to leaves shaped more like an alder tree leaf, except much larger. The branches that held these leaves seemed to be much weaker and drooped over the sides of the pot.

I have this fig indoors in a south/west facing window, and light is low for the winter. I was wondering if the fig produced these leaves to gather more sunlight. I am also thinking these branches are kind of like sucker branches on tomatoes. Otherwise, I am clueless. Any suggestions.

I tried to send a picture, but not working, guess I need to go study up a bit more. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

In my experience figs can change leaf pattern as they grow,
Give it time to mature.

Without a photo can't tell exactly what may be issue.
In general figs grow best in sub-tropical climates, bright sun not too wet.
With poor indoor lighting you can get some differing leaf patterns.
Also fig diseases viruses/mold/mites/rust ... will also deform leaves.
Summer does wonders for figs!

I had a petit Negri from a nursery a few years ago and the shape of leaves indicated to me like the tree had FMV. Growth was very slow, but the tree still produced, but I was never happy with its performance from day one. If you could find a non infected dark variety, I think that it could outperform this one.

This tree is,famous for weird shaped leaves in my opinion. Can change from single lobed to three lobed to seven. My vdb does the same.
