This is the first year I have had rooting successes.  About 90%+ of everything I started has rooted and is leafing out. After budding out they quickly grow tall and branch out enough that they no longer fit in their humidity chambers. About the time they are outgrowing their chambers, the leaves start to look peaked and some start to drop within the humidity chambers. I have been weaning them gradually to lower humidity conditions trying to harden then off before they out grow their humidity chambers but I am beginning to wonder since my rooting area is so warm whether it might be better to either move them to a bit cooler area at this stage where growth will not be as rapid or possibly removing some of the top growth till the root systems are developed enough to support all the top growth. Most of my cuttings are rooting in less than 30 days so I am assuming that growing conditions are adequate. I am rooting directly in clear cups and my cuttings do have obvious roots. Could too much heat or light in my rooting area be encouraging an over abundance of top growth? I am guess the rooting area temp ranges between 72-80 degrees and I am rooting in a 50/50 mix of perlite and MiracleGrow potting soil.

if they look fine, and not over watered and there is no sign of gnat.. i would keep them in the humidity bin longer to see if they improve. last yr, i had few issues with some of the cuttings growing nicely only to just die on me. not sure exactly what the issue was. i think the area where i kept them were just too dry, and when i try to compensate by giving more frequent water, it just killed the roots while the leaves and cutting itself was drying out due to lack of humidity. i use "clam shell" set up with bottom of two semi-clear plastic bin. it's tall enough to hold.. tall cuttings and their top till the spring. 

Check the soil to be sure it's not too wet.  Figs need air and moisture at the root zone.  Baby figs will be killed by too much water near their roots.
