I think I saw those in an Outer Limits episode!

Pete is correct. Kill them now! They can severely damage your figs and even the new growth limbs. I had a bad infestation of these on our blueberries this spring and they have all but killed most of the blueberry plants. Plus destroyed almost all the BB harvest.

I've got those also, but for some reason only on one plant. Neem oil will take care of them.

Shoot!  I thought they were assassin bug babies!!!  I've got them all over the place.  I guess now I know why they were eating the spoiled figs with the fruit flies!!!

Neem oil?  How will that affect them in this heat we have here?  They resemble assassin bugs in coloring.

So glad you posted photos of these bugs,

All I know is that I sprayed them with Neem oil and now they're gone.
I've got the same heat.

Ray,

I should have said how will neem oil affect the fig trees/leaves in the heat we have here.  I was very tired when I typed the post.

Is the neem oil the kind of oil people call summer oil?

I haven't seen the bugs in a couple of days, now.  They're probably turning into adults so they can come back and destroy whatever else they desire.

As far as what you said about what further proof do I want?  That was rather ugly of you.  Do you think you are the ultimate authority?  I've never heard of you before and the attitude you showed to my post was uncalled for.

I guess you edited that part out, though, because it doesn't show here.  Too bad it showed up in my email.

I haven't seen any real problems from them on fig trees.  Kind of like stink bugs on fig trees, not a big problem.

Thank you, Chapman.  I know they ruin my friend's fruits like the persimmons and pears.  It's only been in the past couple of years I've heard about them.  I've seen them before that, but didn't know what they were.  I thought they were stink bugs and they look like they're in that family.
