I was placing my USDA order for next season and really didn't order much, but, one that caught my eye was Nazarti.  It's supposed to be from Israel and have been collected at a convent in Nazareth, so I thought it would be fun to have just for the story behind it, but I couldn't find much info on this variety, even here on F4F.

I did read one post where it was mentioned that it needed the fig wasp to form a main crop but not a breba crop.  Is this true?  USDA describes it as being parthenocarpic so I didn't think it would require the wasp.

Can anyone tell me about this variety of fig?

Also, as I was researching fig wasps, I found that each variety of fig actually has its own pollenating wasp and two species of fig wasps are known in North America.  One is in California and the other, Secundeisenia Mexicana, is here in Florida.  But, it seems the Florida wasp may be a little finicky in that it only likes native Florida figs (see http://www.nhm.ac.uk/resources/research-curation/projects/chalcidoids/pdf_X/Butche964.pdf ).

Any chance this Florida fig wasp may do the sex thing with a non-Florida native?  (I know a lot of other Floridians that do! :D )

As I know its a san pedro and needs caprification for main crop.  it still gives good Breba crop.
I am growing it in a pot and will post results later this year.

i have the cutting for this at home. i'm still considering if i'm going to root it or not
