What did you Order or will Order

Hi everyone.
Well the day has come THE LIST!
I was looking at it and seen one i wanted not listed no big deal  sometimes things are worth waiting for iv'e learned in life.
Anyways just curious what have you ordered or going to order.
It will be lots of fun to see all the pictures as they root or grow into plants and more pictures of the fruit when they ripen in the future.
I still have room for 1 more " maybe "

Some people may prefer to keep things private,
at least for a while, others may not be, yet others
(for some reason)  are very curious...

Im always curious as to what one grows and there location but i understand if one rather be on the side of not to mention, i should have mentioned what i place ordered is
vernino and violet sepor.

I don't mind mentioning the one I want.  If I get it, I get it, if not ... ah well.

Col de Dame has been on my list forever.  Of all of them, Col de Dame Noir was most interesting.  So, this is the single cutting which I've ordered.

I don't know what list y'all are talking about, but I ordered two new ones for my little collection from Almost Eden in Louisiana--- "Champange', 'LSU Tiger', and another 'Banana' to go in the ground. It will be interesting to see how these LSU releases do for me. Supposed to ship this coming Monday, and I'm excited to have something new.

GoodDaughter,
Here is a link to the list:

Aslo see thread:
(Cuttings List posted 10:00 PST today)

I don't mind either----- I ordered Blk Madeira,Col de Dame Blanc,Rasberry latte, Sicilian Blk.JR.GM,Sultane, Wh. Texas Everbearing, and Wuhan. Should keep me busy along with all the others.

I went in like a lamb and I'm coming out like a lion!
I ordered 27!

Rafed, I'm trying to picture all of those baggies, cups, potting mix mixing, !!!

Heheh, that's some work you've got destined for yourself!!

Jason,

I will do the baggie method but I will pot them the old fashioned way.
I will mix 25% perlite into the potting mix and place the cups in the plastic tote box ( mini greenhouse ).
On most occasions I have found that using the mini greenhouse helps prevent the cutting from dehydrating.
Of course this is no new news to most.

Rafed thats the best line I heard all year lol.

Gorgi, thank you so much for the link, I am just amazed!  I spent most of the afternoon and evening going over the list and researching what I could. I didn't get my chores done I had intended to (:^(  but I did submit a list of cuttings I'd like to try--- Hollier, Red Italian, Violette de Bordeaux, and Fico Preta. I have so many of the lighter skinned figs I really wanted some red or dark skinned varieties. So many figs, so little time or space....

Thanks again for the link, and thanks, Jon, for putting so much work into it. It's a wonderful resource.

Rafed, I'm beginning to think you have a greenhouse instead of a sleeper in that truck of yours!

In Martin's defense, he only ordered one more thing.

I am hoping to get : ATREANO,EXCEL RM, MARSEILLES VS, NERO from Encanto Farms and COL DE DAME, ALMA, VERTE, BLACK MADEIRA, GOLDEN CELESTE from UC Davis . Also got coming 2 dif. varieties from my friend from Santa Rosa ,CA and few cuttings from Martin (Dieseler)
Next winter will be lots of 1 gal pots in my garage :) (my wife will kill me)

Remis

Scratching my almost hairless head .
I more?

Martin,
Listen to the voices inside your head. They are saying go for it, Do it, One more, Just one, 1,1,1,1,1.

Tim,
Your idea of a greenhouse in my truck does not sound bad.
I've heard of crazier ideas. But imagine getting pulled over by D.O.T..
Or the Border Patrol at the check points. LOL

Jon is pulling my leg now that i think about it.
I did only place 1 that is 1 more as in 1 more order im thinking perhaps my last .
On a serious note though i should be done i just cant find the room anymore and rooting pruning them large trees last winter was a lot of work for me i have no help and im basically only one that eats the figs as my daughter during that time frame is always with the band , orchestra or strings and madrigals after school. If one day down the future and i can plant inground it would be much easier for me no more root pruning which is only thing im not crazy about. No matter what mix you use every 3 years or maybe push it to 4 at most they need root pruning . Mine needed it after 2 full seasons going into 3 winter the longer i wait the harder it is to do it.
I wonder how some do it when i read i have about 20 or 30 or more in cups, im thinking if they are only growing in containers they must be giving them away if not somewhere down the road there will be much work for them. Heck when its all said and done i will have perhaps no more than 20 and it really scares me to have to root prune them even if i dont do them all at once heck it gets cold here even in the garage !
So in short even if i had the room i would still  put a firm limit on how many i have. Also i will be getting rid of some of the ones not to my likeing in another year or 2 if there not to my likeing which is not a problem for me at all as i got rid of several this year .

Rafed the voices in my head always say go for it 1111  ; )
Also they say MOVE to warmer climate take some containers and cuttings of what i have at that time give the containers away and be happy in a much more suitable climate once and for all  - life is short.
Also i can see them cops one they open your trailer smelling them fig plants and then you saying "how about a taste guys" !

Remember, if you put two 1s together, it makes 11.  11 more.  Imagine how nice that would be ;)

Personally, I want to add another 100 this year. Hopefully people out there still have things that will help me reach that goal.

Martin,
Just let me know if you need help with root pruning ,I`m sure I can find day to help you .
I also need to run to HD to buy some new soil for all these cuttings coming ,the last thing i want is more of those nematodes :)

Thanks Remis there good for another 1 or 2 but then lots of work thanks for offer.
I came back from Menards with bag of perlite and a plastic container to put the sticks in its much neater for me this way .
Hey we  are gonna get minimum 8 inches up to 15 inches late tonight thru wednesday i watched Tom Skilling and he is usually right on target so i went out and bought a couple gallons of milk also my son drinks it as if i owned a cow course i like it also.

I haven't had the time to do more than print out the list (and immediately recognize that I will need hours of looking up varieties in the database before deciding on whether I want anything (likely) and what I want.

For some of the multiple listings of the same variety I'll admit to being at a loss (I know Jon did mention some details about some of the multiples).

I'm also at the point where I don't exactly know what I could want.  The hardiest green (and early ripening) fig I could find.  A more productive celeste?  Who knows?

i've got somewhere between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 dozen varieties and I've seen production from 3-5 of these.  Let the ones I have show me some figs and I might find myself bitten by the fig bug further.

Try Natalina if you don't have one already. It ripened for me in my location in the second summer after purchasing one year old plant from Grimo Nut Nursery (that is if you don't mind another one that almost looks like Hardy Chicago and Sal).

Received my order from Jon today! YEEEHAWWW! Thank you, Jon
