What Do Fig Wives Do?

That's a beauty, well done Jackie. In one day? That's very very impressive. Thanks for sharing Dennis.

I think you got a better response here than Vito gets when he posts a topic on the forums. :-)

Rafael, I can see why Vito enjoys this forum so much. Such a great group of people who share a love of figs!

I guess I just wanted to draw attention to those of us left behind to take care of the trees and see if anyone else could relate to the life of a fig wife; the watering of the trees (which is a CHORE), picking of ripe fruit, and tending to the many cuttings that are started. So many trees!!! And a fig wife knows that even though her husband proudly announces how many fig trees he will be taking (thereby reducing his collection), he will be bringing just as many, if not more, back! Always another variety that he must have!! And how about the phone call....Hi, sweetie, miss you, did you water the fig trees?

But, he loves it! It makes him happy! And they taste so darn good! He loves growing them and I love eating them! We're a perfect match!

ChrisK, I just edited my post.  She didn't complete it in one day.  It took her a few weeks.  She finally made me one after I complained about her making everybody a blanket except me.  He hehe.  This one is by far the prettiest I've seen though!
