What do you think the odds of this surviving are?

If i was you i would slide it out the pot to look at the roots. Yellow leaves means you have a uptake problem with roots. Could be drainage problems.

The roots look ok. Its still a little ways from being pot bound. All the leaves fell off now. Its one of the couple I really don't want to lose. Should it be moved to complete shade and wait to see if it bounces back?

That little tree is trying to ripen a lot of fruit.

Take off all the fruit if you want to save the tree. Without leaves the fruit will be worthless. It looks like the tree got way too dry.

Fignutty is right yank the fruit

Thanks guys, will do, its getting just barely root bound, could I up pot it and put it in the shade while im at it or will that stress it out even further?

Half day's worth of sunlight, up to noon or 1 PM, it should pull through. I would give it a couple of doses of fertilizer; if it's potted, you shouldn't have to worry so much about green wood at time of first frost. With two more months of growing season left, I would say you can still push it to grow a foot taller.
You might even consider burying the pot, so it can draw what it needs from the soil.

Up potting will benefit it, not hurt it.  I would leave a few of the lowest figs and fertilize after it's been rehydrated.  I'd also keep in in morning sun so you don't have to acclimate the leaves when they do come out.

Thanks guys for all the help. I'm still learning after a few years of fig growing and everyone here has been incredibly helpful.
