If you've been growing these indoors, I assume they must be young cuttings. Yes I would put them outdoors now, but in a sheltered area shaded from full sun and gradually over say 3 weeks time, moved to a sunnier area. Of course when the weather gets cold you'll have to bring them back indoors and maybe best to keep them in a sunny window and growing for the first winter. Figs really need outdoor conditions to grow and produce, but of course you can start them and keep them going for a while indoors. As for obtaining some rarer varieties, plenty will be available here and on ebay, just be careful that you choose reliable sellers if you purchase. Trades happen all the time too. If you send me a pm in the fall, I will send you some scion to try. members here are very generous.
