What is the problem?

I am about 30 figs tree propagating in South Korea. Now is the winter.
By the way, some time ago in several varieties has occurred problems, black spots on the edges of the leaves and dry. Like below photos.
Some people to say, this phenomenon are  suffer damage due to cold weather. And then going to be fine.
However, the leaves are drying.
My homes average temperature is 17 degree C.(But Night down to -10 C)  Cutting prunes are getting direct sunlight in the room, may be 5 hours.
What is the problem? What should I do?

Hello and good day.

I cannot definitively attribute the cause, I have come across this (black on some edges in winter, not black spots though), I think it is from low humidity and imperfect nutrients.

I spray plants, and cuttings with water almost daily and have noticed healthier leaves on the plants.

I have gas, forced hot air, so I know I had a problem. The good part, new furnace with substantial humidifier.

Thanks Garic Mike!!
I'll refer to your advice.:)

If spots are black than I agree. I think a humidity issue.

If they were red or reddish brown then get rid of those leaves...

Thank's TorontoJoe~
I'm also thinking humidity problem. Then I did a change of air and effort reduce to humidity.

It is a very fine line between too little and too much humidity. If me, if it's too humid I get a fuzzy mold. If to dry...well, they fry out...

I have also found my leaves get dark like this if they are touching the side of the bin or window where they are wet from condensation.

I don't know Joe. Last winter I had some of this going on and the humidity was between 40-55%. I only had this problem in winter. Eventually the plant would put out a new stem from the soil and I would start to cut the black spot leaves off and eventually the new stem would take over. For me it may have been that the nigh time temps were rather low and the plant may have been confused between growing and dormant. To me benny1127 may have similar thing going on "But Night down to -10 C". I think he means less than 10 C.

For a young, recently rooted plant those temps may not be enough. Some varieties may tolerate it but some may not be able to continue to grow and hence the leaf problems.

I just assumed -10C was the outdoor temp and that the plants were indoors. -10C is 14F. If that's the case and you're growing figs in these temperatures then wow! Yes, I'd say I'm surprised a young plant is alive at all....

Are you saying these plants are exposed to those temperatures?
