What is this?

Has anyone seen this on a cutting before?  Is it some kind of mold?

Sorry for the low quality phone pics...

These are 2 Black Mission cuttings, baggie method.  Last pic is a close up of one node.

Thanks for any help/advise!

I'm not sure what it's called but I had a few cuttings do the same before they rooted and they are now growing strong.

Have seen it before. Seems to be some sort of growth that doesn't properly differentiate into roots.

it will get worse before it gets better, LOL
I'd wash them and wrap them very loosely in a very minimally dump paper towel and throw the zip lock in a sunny corner under some plant shade and let it be there for a week.

Thanks all.  Since there are some root initials, I am going to try to cup them up and get them some air and light.

Its just Black Mission, so no great loss if they don't make it.  Even some Home Depot's have (had) them for about $12.

Phil, have you had a perfectly ripe Black Mission fig? ;) It's one of the best figs I have tasted.

No I have not. My comment was not to disparage black mission, but to indicate that it's not one of those rare figs that cannot be easily replaced.
