What is this insect?

Light green, they scurry to the underside of the leaf or jump away upon being approached.

They congregate on all my young fig trees, and seem to prefer them to any other plant.

Leafhopper

They're called leafhoppers. I had the same thing. Sitting on the new leaves on my plants. Had never seen them before. They suck the liquid from the plant, or so I read. I spent 15 min grabbing and killing them all the other day. Haven't seen any since.

Ah-ha! Thanks, fellas.

I was just researching what could be causing a mottled appearance to the leaves of some of my trees.

Now I see this:

"Both adults and nymphs feed by puncturing the undersides of leaves and stems and sucking out plant juices, leaving a mottled appearance."

I've been seeing those on my fig trees too. I never see them on anything else and I didn't think they were harmful. ill need to start squishing them.

I wonder if they can spread FMV .
