What is your most vigorous grower from a cutting?

Was just wondering, what is your most vigorous grower from a cutting? Mine for sure has to be Sals EL...: )

In what amount of time are we talking?  Dark Portuguese, Bari, and MBVS (all in ground) have been very vigorous as far as growth and production goes.  They were started from a cutting in 2013.

Frank....Actually I guess what I mean is, If I get 20 cuttings from different Fig Cultivars at the same time. Which one of the 20 would be ready to plant in the ground, by late Spring of the following Year...Hopefully that makes sense. : )

I think for me it is Smith. MBVS and Figo Preto close behind. Nice to have you around again, Frank. Seems it's been awhile.

Chicago Hardy, from cutting this year.  Smith, purchased in 1 gal this year, now in ground really took off.

I have had several figs grow 5-6 ft first year. It's the size of the pot and nutrients that make the big difference. but plants like marseilles VS black, atreano, and Hardy Chicago  always put on over 3 ft first year from a cuttings. cuttings of MVSB grown in ground with well prepared soil have grown over 6ft in 1 year.

Yeap, the MBVS, it is a good grower.

Year after year -- hands down -- Green Ischia.

I have many that grow to 4' the first year but slow down after that because I have them in rather small pots (trade 5 gallon but only filled about 2/3 full), they're just waiting for me to find the time to go in the ground.  I think to date my fastest grower is been the Moroc Noir I have posted on my fruit photos from last month.

Growing conditions make a huge difference.  What I had labeled as Genovese Nero has done very well for others.  One guy in Louisiana called me yesterday to say the 18" tree I sold him 5 months ago was now 7' tall and had given him 16 excellent fruits.  None of mine have grown like that and I'm guessing it might be the cool nights we have here.

Salem dark was my most vigorous one, although ive only had success with a limited amount of varieties.

Niagara Black and MaryLane Seedless at 2 or 3 feet from small cuttings and  I had a 1 and half  wide by 14" inch long stump that rooted last February and it grew about 4 to 5 feet. I am training to go horizontally. it is  fat all the way.
