what kind of fig is this?

Well out fig hunting last weekend I came across this gigantic tree it was about 25 ft wide and about 18 ft tall and had 100's and 100's of figs and the part that really killed me is that  it doesn't get covered and no die back,

The figs as you can see are green with red interior and absolutely delicious the folks that live there don't really appreciate the tree as you can see they drive there car right into it

Anyway I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on what type of fig tree it might be?

Thanks Dave

Nice find Dave. No covering, no die back? That tree needs to be shared by all the northern collectors.

If you get out your ninja suit let me know, I'd be interested!

Looks like the Saratoga I tasted yesterday, sorry no pix but more is coming.
I will post in this thread when ready.

Ya, the fruit does look like Saratoga or Chico Strawberry but the leaf looks different but there could be factors for that. The leaf looks more like Ischia White. I am not an expert, so be aware.

Hm, not the leaves from Ischia White I have...

Ever heard of fig take away drive through?
Just kidding!
Good colour on them.

In that case they probably won't mind if you take a few dozen cuttings this fall.  Wouldn't even make a dent in a tree that size.  Sign me up for cuttings

Dave,
You should offer to prune their tree to make room for the car in the driveway, all for the low low cost of keeping the cuttings.
Cheers,
Jim

I want one. I want one now!

Ever heard of give and take? Well..... this is take and give.

Dave why did the 5th picture come into play? Is that this plants leaf? was that a plant you propagated from cuttings of the tree. There are other baby fig trees in the picture thats why I ask.

It's a close up of the leave

I tried to locate a name for you but came up empty handed. was both sides of the figs solid or one hallow? The leaves on the tree in pic 1 look different than the leaf in pic 5.  the dominant leaf pattern looks to have shorter/wider lobes like a 5 lobed celeste. making me think figtrees.net's version of White Triana. good luck

Dave,

Is that a chestnut tree next to the fig tree? By the way, if you can get cuttings I would love to get some from you.

Maine Zone 5b.

Either my brain has just glitched severely or I've seen this same tree before, next to a chestnut, overhanging a driveway (in a previous post). I swear someone has posted this before...

I still think this is it:

If you wait another day or two, yours will look like the one in the link

The greenleaf for helping try to identify this fig , the fig looks exactly the same but the leaf is different that one looks like a 3 lobe leaf I'll have to look over the tree to see if there are any 3 lobe leaves on it?

Any other ideas?

That Tree is known under the name:Sicilian White.

Thank you very much Herman appreciate the knowledge

Herman it don't look like the tree in your picture
