what to do with immature figs ( side ? on desert king)

What is the best thing to do with immature figs that have no chance of rippeing? Do you leave them on the bushes and let them just get killed by the frost (its about 2 -3 weeks till our first frost here) or do you pinch them off or does it matter?  also on a side note my supposed Desert King fig a couple of weeks ago started producing little figs would a real desert king do this?  I was under the impression that Desert King only produced figs in the early spring

Your desert King may be producing a main crop which will not ripen, but fall off if not pollinated by the fig wasp. If your un ripened figs are far enough along, which is to say, fully developed and ready to ripen, but have not yet ripened, you can remove and make fig jam. Bass has a good recipe, I believe, on his website Trees of Joy. If the figs are still small and not even close to ripening and you are running out of growing time, it's best to remove them.

ok thanks - some are close to full size but alot are not big at all
