What to do with this...?

I dug this tree up last fall, (center main stalk died), put it in burlap and a garbage can in the garage this winter.

I didn't  think it would make it, but low and behold the little suckers around it are sprouting. (disregard the packysandra)

What should I do now, put it a large pot with dirt and water?   Or do I need to do something else?

If I go the pot route, it seems like most of the dirt you buy at HomeDepot has fungus gnats, so wonder how to get around that.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would just plant in a mix of bark fines and yard dirt. Doubt gnats would be an issue at this of stage development.

Thanks for the reply.  Glad to hear the gnats will not likely be an issue - they were the bane of my existence last time I grew cuttings.

Dirt, pot, pine bark - I think I can handle that.
