what type of fig tree is good for Georgia NY for in ground?

I want to give a present for someone that lives in Georgia NY zone 7b, does anyone have any suggestions of what type grow there with great success in the ground?

I was thinking more like :
Hardy Chicago
MvsB
VDB
Celeste
Adriatic

Anyone ?

Thank you and Happy Easter

Lotta people seem to say the hardy Chicago & mbvs are good for the northeast

I'm 7b, Georgia, GA. Not sure if anything else besides zone is similar to lower Manhattan.

I think Hardy Chicago would be a safe bet.

My Brother in Staten Island NY has his fig tree( Angelo's dark) in the ground with no winter protection and it does fine.
I have one extra if you want it?
Vito

Calliope's Red Greek unk. Has a history of being very hardy. 80 years in ground in Michigan.. Can't argue with that.

George, try to find a Bourjassote Grise'. I hear a lot of good things about this particular variety for cooler zones, similar to London.

I also live in 7b Georgia...around here in Athens, the most common figs you see are Celeste and Brown Turkey.  HC would be very safe, I agree.
